About Lavande
A salon you can sit in.
Lavande Nails & Café is a nail salon and a specialty café that share one space on the 2nd floor of Manila Bankers Prosperity Tower in Legazpi Village, Makati. It was founded by Isabel Umali for guests who want their nails done without being hurried, and for the friends who come with them.
Why a nail café
The appointment is the pause.
Most nail appointments are something you fit in. You sit under bright lights, watch the clock and leave. A café visit is usually the same: twenty minutes between two other things. Lavande was built on the idea that both could be slower if they shared a room.
So the nail room is quiet and softly lit, and nobody rushes a set. A gel manicure is booked for about an hour and forty minutes because cleaning and aftercare are part of it. The café is a real café with its own menu and its own seats, which means the person who came with you has somewhere good to be. Guests often start with a matcha, move to the nail room when their technician is ready, and stay for a second drink after. Nothing about the visit asks you to hurry.
The room
Wisteria, plaster and aubergine.
The arches on this website are the arches on our walls.
The nail room
Cream chairs, brass lamps and shelves lit from behind. Five nail specialists work here, one guest each.
The polish wall
Hermès and Chanel bottles on curved plaster shelves. You choose your colour standing in front of it.
The VIP room
One private room in deep aubergine with cream recliners, for guests who want the door closed.
The terrace
A few tables outside under the Lavande sign, level with the trees on Legazpi Street.
The craft
By hand, and with care after.
Every service starts with cleaning, because polish only looks as good as the nail under it. Builder gel is sculpted by hand to the shape of your own nail. Regular polish goes on in thin coats from a Hermès or Chanel bottle.
Before you leave, your technician tells you how to look after the set at home. Guests mention that part in their reviews more than almost anything else.
